Proline Results NFL Week 16

Week 16 was as exciting as it was predicted to be. An overtime game settled home-field advantage in the NFC, while the AFC was decided by a great game in Tennessee.

My Proline Predictions had some good picks. Seattle upset the Jets and had a Proline home plus of 4.80. Tampa Bay did fall into the trap, as they lost to San Diego. My favourite call was the Oakland 4.50 at home to the Texans. Oakland cruised to victory in that game.

However, the Steelers didn't have what they needed to get a win against the Titans. Tennessee now has home-filed throughout the playoffs. They look like the team to beat in the AFC.

Baltimore sure did steal the party in Dallas. Those two touchdown runs were an embarrassment to the Cowboys' defense.

In the Sunday night game, it was nice to see the touchdown in overtime. The Tie and Home Proline payouts are always helpful for the players. The Giants showed their character again, as they came back to win that game in OT.

Proline Predictions NFL Week 16

Week 16 in the Nfl has the best matchups of the year. Many games have playoff implications. Here are my Proline Predictions.

Pittsburgh/Tennesee

Pittsburgh is favoured in Tennessee with a Proline odd of 2.00. The Titans have a nice looking Proline odd of 2.60. The battle for home-field throughout the playoffs should be one of the best games of the year. Pittsburgh and Tennessse have equal 6-1 road and home records, respectively.

Pittsburgh has the best defense in the league and they are vicious at stopping the run. Tennessee has run all over teams this year, and now faces their biggest challenge. One glaring weakness for the Titans is the Albert Haynesworth injury. Everything starts in the middle, and now Tennessee doesn’t have it’s pile pusher. Kyle Vanden Bosch is also out, Jevon Kearse is probable, and suddenly the front 4 of the Titans doesn't look so strong.

Dallas/Baltimore

The Cowboys host the Saturday night special, and the Ravens are looking to spoil the party. Dallas has a Proline odd of 1.7 and Baltimore 3.00

Dallas is playing its final home game in Texas Stadium. There is a ceremony with many former players after the game. After the game? I can’t imagine Dallas losing and watching the playoffs slip away and then they trot out all the old Cowboy heroes. Baltimore would really have to steal the party for that to happen. On top of that, it’s a Saturday night national TV audience. Dallas is 6-1 at home and Tony Romo’s stats at home are ridiculous.

Some other things to think about:

  • This is mike Holmgren’s last home game as the coach of the Seahawks.

  • The Jets haven’t won on the West coast yet, with losses in Oakland, San Francisco, and San Diego.

  • Green Bay is 2-5 on the road, and has lost 4 in a row.

  • As good as Carolina looks, they are only a .500 team on the road. The Giants are 6-1 at home. New York is paying a healthy 1.9, which makes them a proper payout on the Proline Chart.

  • I ask myself why Oakland has a Proline odd of 4.50 when they are at home in a meaningless game for both teams. With only 1 home win for the Raiders, they are a team that needs one more victory for their fans. Houston doesn’t play well on the road.

  • With all the talk about Haynesworth, don’t forget that Pat Williams is still out. He is a huge part of that Vikings defense.

  • Tampa Bay is underpaying on the Proline Chart, and look like a trap at 1.70.

Good luck with your Proline picks.

    NFL Proline Odds Week 16

The early Proline odds are out and they look interesting. The key matchups alone make this the best week of the NFL this year.

Take a look at these games:

    Baltimore/Dallas
Both teams looking to find a wildcard playoff berth.

    Pittsburgh/Tennessee
The best two teams in the AFC play to see who gets home field throughout the playoffs.

    Carolina/New York
The two best teams in the NFC play to see who gets home field advantage and who takes all the momentum into the playoffs.

Arizona, New England, Atlanta, Indy, and Tampa Bay all play big games to get into the playoffs or fight for byes and home field advantage.

This will be a great week, with high Proline odds all over the place. There are lots of great teams paying more than 2.00.

    NFL Proline Results Week 15

Here are the NFL Proline results for Week 15.

Dallas had a big win and their home plus Proline odd of 2.60 would make any tickets look a little better. The Cincinnati home win had the biggest Proline odd of the day with a 4.00.

The NFC South is still proving to be the best division in football, as Carolina wins and Atlanta and Tampa Bay record an exciting Proline Tie of 3.10 with Atlanta walking away with a key divisional victory.

The AFC got real interesting this week as Tennessee lost and Pittsburgh won. Indy, New England, and the Jets are all hanging around in the playoff picture with their wins.

There were a number of Proline ties this week. 5 of the 14 games were a Proline tie, which is a little more than a third of the games.

Carolina came through for me and gave me one cash on my Proline rotation. Looking at my tickets makes me think about something I read in The Winning Strategy about how to bet 3 of 4 rotations.

I did a basic rotation with my four teams, which takes 4 tickets to complete(1 ticket without each team). The problem is that my lowest paying ticket pays 5.99 to win. My highest ticket pays 15.96 to win. That is a big diffrence because of the high Proline odd for Jacksonville. The book talks about balancing your tickets in a rotation so they all pay the same.

Here is what I should have done:

    Ticket 1 Ticket 2 Ticket 3 Ticket 4
    Proline 1.90 1.90 1.90 1.50
    Odds 2.10 2.10 1.50 2.10
    4.00 1.50 4.00 4.00
    Payouts 15.96 5.99 11.40 12.60
    Wager 2 5 3 3
    Payout 31.92 29.95 34.20 37.80

This way the tickets have a similar payout. Clearly, if you wagered more money, it is possible to have a more equal Proline payout.

    Proline Results NFL Week 14

What an embarrassment. The Bills couldn't even score a touchdown in the Toronto game. The stadium wasn't sold out, and the Bills played like the horrible team they are.

Pittsburgh came back on Dallas, to win that game.

Philadelphia had the biggest Proline odd of the week with their 5.50 win against the Giants.

Here are the Proline Results for week 14 in the NFL.

    NFL Week 14 Proline Predictions

The Bills are finally in Toronto and their horrible season ruins it all. I can’t even talk about them. There are too many other great games this week on the Proline schedule to worry about who finishes last in the AFC East.

One of the games of the week is the potential Superbowl match up of the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tony Romo is back and the Cowboys are rolling, but this looks like a real tough game in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers defense has been outstanding this year as they lead the league against the run, the pass, and overall. Pittsburgh’s defense alone has scored 14 points a game this year. Their only two home losses have come against the Giants and the Colts. They have all their running weapons ready and Roethlisberger has looked good lately. They should win this game, and giving up a Proline win to the Cowboys looks unlikely.

The Cowboys have been a team reborn since Tony Romo has come back. However, with recent wins over Washington, San Francisco, and Seattle, what have they really done? Marion Barber is still questionable as is DeMarcus Ware. Dallas has a chance to show they are Superbowl contenders. Yet, they are still a 3-3 road team who has to leave the comfort of their dome and travel into the snow of Pittsburgh. Can they prove to the world they are Superbowl contenders this week? Terrell Owens and “his” quarterback sure think they can.

The second game of the week is on Monday night, and it will finish off a week of teams playing against teams with similar records. The NFC South might be the best division in football this year and its two best teams fight for the lead on Monday. Tampa Bay and Carolina have the same 9-3 record as well as equal 3-3 road and 6-0 home records. This should say enough for the outcome of this game. Carolina has not lost at home this year.

The second game with similar records comes with two teams that play well at home. Atlanta and New Orleans have equal 5-1 records at home. The problem is that Atlanta isn’t at home and the Saints are in the Superdome, where they play well. New Orleans will have both Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister in this game, as Bush comes back from an injury. The Saints put up 521 yards in the last game against Atlanta but still lost

If Atlanta wins, they will steal the show from the battle for 1st in the NFC and put themselves in excellent position for the playoffs. Rookie Matt Ryan continues to be the story, and he faces another big test this week.

In another game of similar records, Washington brings its 4-1 road record into Baltimore against their 4-1 home record. Baltimore is in a good position for a wildcard in the AFC, while Washington still has a shot at the playoffs. The big difference here is that Washington has been cold and Baltimore has been hot. Washington has lost 3 of its last 4 while Baltimore has won 6 of its last 7. The Redskins have averaged just over 10 points in their last 4 games. They are still one of only 3 teams who have yet to score 30 points. The other two? Cincinnati and Detroit. The Redskins will need to create some new-found offence to win this game. That is a tough order against the Raven’s defense.

The long shot Proline pick of the week is The Jaguars to win against the Bears. Jacksonville is a one of the 4s on the Proline Odds sheet this week. They are a good value at 4.00. Of course it will be a difficult win for the cold Jags, but at that Proline odd, they do have a chance in this game.

Kyle Orton is back, but has not been playing the same as before his injury. The Bears are no longer the defensive powerhouse that is a tough beat at home. They are only 3-4 this year in Chicago, and their defense is clearly not one of the best in the league anymore.

The Jaguars have had a disappointing season, but are still a good team. Furthermore, they haven’t lost 4 in a row in 5 years, and don’t want to do that this week. The Jags were supposed to have a good year, and they shouldn’t be willing to give up on this season yet; they still have something to prove.

    My Proline Ticket this week:

I am going to play a 3 of 4 Proline rotation. I am not happy with the 1.50 for Baltimore, but a Jacksonville win at 4.00 could make up for it.

    Pittsburgh H 1.90
    New Orleans H 2.10
    Baltimore H 1.50
    Jacksonville V 4.00

As much as I can't stand thinking about the Bills, their game against Miami looks like a great Proline tie paying 2.50.

Here is the NFL Week 14 Proline Chart. Click on the picture to see a full-screen view.

This chart provides Proline information for week 14 in the NFL. The main idea of the chart is to show the proper payouts of each team compared to the Proline odds. The first categories are the Proline odds and the point spreads. Based on the point spread for each game, the Proper Value category shows what the Proline odds should be. The Proper Value is compared with the Proline odd and a ranking is created based on the difference. If the Proline odd is higher, the ranking is higher. 5 is the best ranking and 0 is the worst. A ranking of 2 is a proper payout.

The chart is not designed to show what teams have good chances of winning. It only shows which odds are higher or lower than they should be.
