NFL Wildcard Weekend Proline Predictions

The NFL playoffs are finally here. The Wildcard Weekend has some surprising faces, with Miami, Atlanta, Minnesota, and Philadelphia all making unpredicted appearances.

The opening weekend has a common theme throughout the Proline Odds. All the home teams are underdogs. This is a big surprise, as home teams in the playoffs are normally favoured. However, the Proline odds show that many believe some of these division winners are not legitimate playoff teams. San Diego is an obvious underdog, as they snuck into the playoffs winning the AFC West at 8-8. Miami, is also no surprise as an underdog, with their shocking AFC East championship getting them into the playoffs. Arizona won the AFC West, which is one of the weakest divisions in the NFL. Minnesota also was the champion of a rather weak division. The powerhouse divisions, which include the NFC East, AFC South, and NFC South all provide wildcard teams who are road favourites.

Each road team has a Proline odd of 1.90, while the home teams have Proline odds of 2.70. Although they are the same, the difference is on the Pointspread. Atlanta and Indy are 2.5 point favourites, and Baltimore and Philadelphia are 3.5 point favourites. If the Proline odds are the same, but the spreads are different then Baltimore and Philadelphia are better wagers than Indy or Atlanta. The Proline odds makes sense, but I don't see how 4 road teams can win.

My Proline Predictions:

I am going to play a 3 of 4 Proline Rotation

IND V 1.90
ARZ H 2.70
BAL V 1.90
PHI/ MIN T 3.10

I simply can't take 4 favourites, but more importantly can't take 4 road teams.

Tomlinson and Gates are both hurting, which makes me leery of San Diego's chances. Peyton is the MVP and he is on a big time roll.

I think Arizona is a great home team, with a quarterback and coach with more experience than Atlanta.

I haven't liked Miami all year and I still don't like them. Baltimore, on the other hand, has one of the best defenses in the league.

Philadelphia can play defense and everyone knows Minnesota will run the ball. I don't see these quarterbacks putting up too many touchdowns. I love playing home underdogs on Proline Ties. I think the home advantage will even up this match up and it should be a low scoring, close game.
